Where I’ve been

Ok, I can really go to detail on where I’ve been the past couple days (I can’t count the weekend, I’m never online) but I can tell you despite my business at work I can’t really come up with justifiable excuses! LOL  The fact is, when I’m not writing down my food I’m subconciously avoiding the issue.  If I’m too busy to write it down, my subconcious mind feels its ok to be a bit more lax on my eating habits (thus I will eat junk). 

I’ve got to really get tough on myself and admit when I am slacking.  I’ve got to force myself to blog (it does help me) and to journal if I’ve any hope of losing weight.

Wii Fit Apology

I was wrong in my first impressions of the Wii Fit.  Turns out it may be a very helpful tool in my quest to start some sort of exercise program! LOL

Apparently I didn’t delve into all of the different things you could do, and my choosing beginner on a lot of the different activities was really limiting the amount of time each activity was taking.

I learned that Hula Hoop really is an aerobic activity and that you can actually jog trails with the Fit.  You just put a regular Wii controller in your pocket and jog in place through neat little trails.  It will actually pick up how fast you are jogging, etc.  Very cool.

I will continue to update on my Fit progress! LOL

Chocolate Woes

I am going home tonight to make a dessert for our youth group with the low fat brownie (the pumpkin and boxed brownie recipe) that no one at home liked.  I really didn’t even care for it that much, but then again, I’ve been surrounded by “real” chocolate for the past few weeks.

I think I’ll sprinkle some chocolate chips over it, drizzle it with Chocolate syrup and top with whip cream.  I’ll let you know how the girls like it. (Or how I like it for that matter!) :)

Election thoughts

First off - I am so glad it’s over!!  I’m tired of getting fifty million pamphlets and fliers and phone calls, tired of hearing everyone talk about it all day at work, tired of hopeful expectations and dangerous slander.

I am now praying for the President Elect, praying that he can make good on a lot of his promises, praying that he makes good decisions and brings on board parties from both sides based on qualifications to the Congress.

He may not have been my choice, but he is our next President and deserves the prayer, honour and recognition that goes with that title.  Hopefully, many more people out there are praying with me.

Let’s keep our entire country in prayer for the days to come, so that we may find grace with God to help get us out of this mess we’re in!

Dienners & Candy

I’m back on track today but after doing really good Friday night I totally tripped up Saturday when we took a trip out to Lancaster.  We went to Dienners which is an absolutely incredible buffet of homecooked Amish/Mennonite food.  I was dying for the chicken and buttered noodles but went a little overboard especially on dessert. 

Later that night we hit Sonic and I got a plain burger but ate a couple of DH’s onion rings…then instead of skipping any kind of dessert (because I’d already eaten enough at lunch to last me) I ordered a fat free fruit smoothie (which I’m sure was loaded with calories).

Then Sunday I went home from church to sick hubby and a ton of candy which I of course ate at least 6 or 8 pieces of….uggh…why can’t I do good on the weekend????
